   Thrown rod? Blown tranny? But seriously, who converts a Buick Century (?) to 4wd with a lift kit. Good grief.

     Yeah I don’t get it either. Heck I don’t get why one would want to mud in anything besides what we already make…except just to show off.

     Had a buddy in College who built a franken-mudder out of a ’65 Mustang Convertible, welded to a Ford Bronco frame. 40″ tires, and I believe a 460 V8 under the hood. Dunno if its all rusted out by now or not, but it was quite the mud-whumper in its prime!

   Ok, it’s a little white car with big wheels… ok, it’s stuck in the mud and not going anywhere… ok, smoke, saw that coming… OH MY LORD IT’S ON FIRE!

   I guess it is just as well the driver did not follow my first instinct at the white smoke/steam and bail out immediately… given the depth of that mud, he might well be on fire.

   In other news, what the hell was that white stuff? Blown radiator?

   With how quickly the engine stopped when you saw the smoke and then the fire, I’d guess he put a connecting rod through the side of the block. He probably had oil spray over the headers which started the fire.
